Welcome to our fifth edition of the Hot Button.
The holiday season is upon us. For many, it can be a time of reflection. A time to express gratitude for our many blessings and find ways to help others. A great opportunity to give back is on Giving Tuesday.
With Halloween this weekend, we also wanted to share with you some simple safety tips from the POM team. Whether you’re going out with friends or trick or treating with your family, we want to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
Be safe. Stay prepared. Enjoy the beauty around you.
Supply Chain Disruption
Have you started your holiday shopping yet? While online shopping makes everything easier, there are major disruptions across global supply chains that may get worse during the bustling holiday season.
The pandemic caused disruptions across all significant industries in the global supply chain. Factories shut down, material costs skyrocketed, ocean freight shortages and a lack of truck drivers have led to shortages of everything.
Healthcare Workplace Violence
75% of the nearly 25,000 workplace assaults occur in healthcare settings according to The Join commission report. This massive issue is so pervasive in healthcare settings that many workers consider it to be simply part of the job.
A surge in healthcare workplace violence is taking place during the pandemic. Healthcare workers have faced an increase in violence against them which has led many to leave or consider leaving the workforce.

POM Team Outings
The POM team enjoyed multiple outings this month. Our team attended the HCP Annual Conference where we shared the importance of home care worker safety and spent a night at Bowlero Chelsea Piers sharing some laughs and bowling a few strikes!

Making A Difference
Fathers form a group, “Dads on Duty” to help create a safer environment for their kids to learn in a Louisiana high school. They have energized the school with morning greetings, laughter and tough love.
In the span of 72 hours, a series of fights at a Louisiana high school resulted in nearly two dozen students getting arrested, suspended or expelled. In response, a group of dads stepped up to form a squad to help stop violence.
That wraps us up for this edition. Thank you for reading, please share with us any feedback or suggestions.
